Monday nights in Christchurch are no longer boring. Nick Jackman delivers his goodtime celtobilly stomp every Monday in the intimate surroundings of Cartel, located in Sol Square. If you are suffering from the blues then Nick is your doctor. Nick's cure includes large doses of Irish, Scottish and Appalachian folk, country blues, and rock 'n roll. With a repertoire in his head of around 200 covers and original tunes you will never find him short of something to sing about. If you have never seen Nick Jackman in action you must check him out – he plays harmonica, guitar and drums all at the same time and his groove is designed to move.
Nick Jackman is a well known Christchurch multi-instrumentalist with a solid reputation for playing celtic, country and blues harmonica. He played in the Black Velvet Band for a number of years, and continues to do so on occasions, as well as making regular appearances as a session player in various local folk, country and blues bands. He is also a member of the celtgrass duo Boiling Billy, and The Blues Grenade, his one-man punk blues hurricane.
